Day 1 – Arrive at Kilimanjaro Airport. Collect and transport to overnight accommodation in Arusha. Free time for orientation and briefing by guide.
Day 2 – Morning drive to Tarangire National Park arriving late morning. Enjoy lunch box in Park before afternoon game drive. Park is famous for ancient baobob trees and large herds of elephants. Late afternoon drive to Karatu, outside the gate of the Ngorogoro Conservation Area. Overnight in Karatu.
Day 3 – Leave Karatu and enter Ngorogoro Conservation Area and proceed around the crater directly to Serengeti National Park. After lunch, proceed directly via afternoon game drive to centrally located Seronera. Overnight in Seronera.
Day 4 – After breakfasting in camp, we transit by means of a game drive north across the “endless plains” ( Serengeti in the Masai language). We enjoy our lunch box under the acacia tree, and after lunch as we approach Kogantende, we commence to meet the massing herds of the migration, waiting to cross the Mara River. Arriving at our destination, we relax and overnight in a riverside tented camp.
Day 5 – Rise early and follow the Mara River by means of a game drive observing the ongoing conflicts of nature between herbivore and carnivore, where only the strongest survive. Following the river, we look for the optimum moment when the pressure of the massed herds of animals and desire to look for fresh pasture, suddenly initiates a crossing of the crocodile infested river. The resulting spectacle is nature at her harshest moment and is something that once observed will never be forgotten. After lunch we will continue our game drive and head back in the direction of our riverside tented camp. Overnight in riverside tented camp.
Day 6 – Leave for early morning game drive and track in the direction of the Ngorogoro Conservation Area and enter the world famous Ngorogoro Crater. Enjoy lunch inside the crater, one of the most picturesque locations in Africa. In the afternoon, experience a game drive amongst one of the highest densities of wildlife in Africa. Exit the Crater and Conservation area and overnight in Karatu.
Day 7 – After an early morning wander through the local coffee plantation, proceed back in the direction of Arusha, stopping for shopping on the way. On arrival, you can either overnight in Arusha or proceed directly to your connecting flight. ( Accommodation for this final night is optional, depending on your ongoing travel arrangements and is not included in the price)
